Today was 90 degree heat and very humid. A hot day for tennis. Throughout the academy today it was mainly the younger players as the older ones had tournaments. Due to the heat we took lots of little short breaks. As you can see from the photo's this is underneath the gazebo where it is in the shade and cool. However, players need to be able to learn how to play in the heat and cope as if it was any other type of weather. We kept it competitive and fun to keep the players motivated which meant myself hitting in with the players instead of standing watching, This also shows the players that we have to play in the heat also not just them. The photo below shows some of the players and coaches who we worked with today. As you can see there is an age range. I also bought a bit of England to Lakeland introducing new games. A lot of the players also speak a variety of languages. I try to always get them to teach me a new word. This keeps the business feel like a community or family and increases diversity.
