learning a new skill

Today, academy started at 9am. Its tournament day so few people came today. People were coming and going for a quick warm up before their tournament. Today, again you don't teach anything new and you don't tire the player out. The goal is to get them loose and engage them in points. Today, I played with Kayla, Daniel, Thomas and Maddie. I played points against all of them and made sure they were moving their feet and were feeling positive. After this it was about time I learnt how to string a racket. It is something I have needed to learn for a while. It takes time to learn but also can be a useful small amount of income, stringing rackets for other people. There are a variety of machines which are used for stringing. There are also different strings for rackets which have different benefits. Whilst being taught if you get one string wrong, then you have to re string the whole racket this is a very timely process. It takes about 1 hour to string a racket once you have learnt but whilst learning about 2 hours. The tension is also different for different people, this needs to be remembered. I had just strung nearly a whole racket and then realized i didn't measure the string out right.... time to start again!!
