First day of matches is always apprehensive day. It started off with a 2 hour rain delay, therefore we had to keep Jaedan moving so she wouldn't not be sitting around. The venue was lovely, nice courts and close to restaurants and places to pick up food. First match she started off well, my role is to match chart al the matches she plays. (you can now see this within the projects) this gives her a statistical analysis of what she actually has to work on. After winning her first match comfortably, the second match was a hard one. You are not allowed to coach as a spectator and therefore it is difficult to keep you mouth shut as you just want to say, keep your arm up or move your feet. This second match tested her ability as being 13 years of age playing in an 18 age group forced her to play up which is what we wanted. I am constantly learning throughout this tournament how the USTA works in America as we in England have a different systems. This will be vital in order for me to run a tennis management business and look after players as I will need to know all the knowledge and thats what my clients will want. 4 matches she played today 2 singles and 2 doubles. We had to make sure she kept hydrated and stayed full on energy for all of the matches. I also learnt there is a 12 hour rule so the player is not allowed to play for another 12 hours after 1 day of matches has finished.... Looks like its back at 7:30am tomorrow morning. See below for some picture of the venue. And how the stats are taken.
