After my day off yesterday, I felt a bit sore after the cardio filled past week. I am slowly beginning to understand what parents, coach and players go through to obtain their goal of becoming a professional tennis player. Due to me being Jaedan's motivator in what she is doing, which is part of my duty here at Lakeland, I again started off with a 1 mile run and then a short fitness session. After that straight to a 2 hour tennis straining session. We had another person joining in today, and I learnt some new drills to do with them and benefits of hitting with different people as it enables the player to be able to change their style rapidly. As previously written, a few of the players of whom we are working with a full time meaning home schooled. Which I have become to realize that when you are playing such a high standard of tennis it become a vital part as after school you are mentally tired and having to stay on court training for 4 hours a day including fitness you ned to have a strong mind. However, i noticed that during my lunch break that home schooling has become more popular nowadays as there was young children (beginners) learning how to play tennis in the middle of the day. I learnt here that it has become more and more common and part of being home schooled is that the child has to have a sport. I thought this was a good idea, especially if a child is being home schooled as it keep them socializing with children their own age.
As mentioned previously in the week, I learnt a bit about the royalties of music. Helping Auggie try and find some music to play with the new advertisement. However, there are so many rules and regulation that you would not believe for example: only being allowed to play 15 seconds of a song for a large sum of money. And this 15 seconds can only be used for certain purposes. To be able to do this you have to get in touch with licensing which at first I would never have even thought about doing. Throughout my time here so far I have learnt that as long as you are on court you are a role model to home ever is watching, parents, players and spectators. This means constantly being aware of whats going on, and myself being motivated to keep moving my feet to set a good example. I have also starting to try and realise the boundary between being their friend and their coach. When we are relaxing and sitting down no tennis talk but when we are on court I am her 'Keep going'
